So I decided not to go to any of the Winter tour dates (aside from the record release party) for a few reasons. One, I like outdoor venues for concerts, and two, I wanted to give him a chance to get comfortable playing his new stuff before I pay a ridiculous price for a concert ticket. Lastly, I wanted to see who his opening acts would be in the summer, and by some stroke of luck, the one and only AVETT BROTHERS are opening in Ohio and a few others cities. Boom. I’m pretty sure Colin and I are the only ones eligible for the presale, which means we can purchase a max of 4 tickets each per transaction for up to 3 shows each (8 tickets max per concert). Below is a list of the Dates, locations, and opening acts for the shows that are worth going to.

7/21 (Wed.) : Wantagh, NY – Nikon at Jones Beach Theater (Opening Act : Train)
7/25 (Sun.) : Hershey, PA – Hershey Park Stadium (Opening Act : Train)
8/8 (Sun.) : Saratoga, NY – SPAC (Opening Act : Train) *We can crash at Jay Tay’s
8/11 (Wed.) : Darien Center, NY – Darien Lake PAC (Opening Act : Train) *Right next to Six Flags
8/13 (Fri.) : Cuyahoga Falls, OH – Blossom Music Center (Opening Act : Avett Bros.) *Ay Bay Bay

SPAC in Saratoga is a definite. It’s one of the nicest venues I’ve ever been to, it’s right in between Blauvelt and Rochester, and we can most likely camp somewhere or crash at Jay Tay’s. Ohio is also a definite for Adam and I, and anyone else who wants to road trip it with us.

***IMPORTANT PART***
The presale for any of these dates is April 14th. I have to know who wants to go where ASAP, and have the money for the tickets. I don’t have the funds to cover all these tickets, and they have to be purchased with my card. I think the ticket price will be in the $80 range for real good seats. For some of these venues it might make sense to pay $30 or whatever it is for lawn seats, and just chill out in the sun, relax, listen to the tunes, etc. Feel free to comment, email me, call me, JO me, etc..
