Teamasparag.us 2.0
Hey guys. I have a new website. Again.
I really appreciate everyone’s comments from last time around. Taking everything that was said into consideration, I decided that while there was a lot I liked about the last version, I had some fundamental problems with the design. So! I decided to scrap it and start anew. I enlisted the help of a new flash friend, Arkadiusz Milek, (who is a total badass) for the coding end. Behold:
I think it’s a solid improvement over v1. Hopefully I can get a job now. That is all.
Teamasparag.us
Hey everybody! Eric has a new(ish) website!
It’s called Teamasparag.us. I decided I wanted to have a more designy site than yourfoxygrandma.com, so I threw this guy together with some help from my bro. It’s not perfect–I’d like to make it cooler at some point–but I like parts of it. Check it out and let me know what you think! I’m especially interested in criticism. There a little bit of new work on there too.
Liveblogging Friday
Yes it’s Friday once again! Hooray! Should be a pretty typical day; not totally sure what to expect here. I have a pretty manageable to do list today at least, so let’s get a move on!
8:18 PM - Read Adam’s comment. Awesome evening, locked in. Trembling slightly.
8:17 PM - Watched Magical Trevor. Couldn’t help it.
7:51 PM - Break’s over. 3-0, no big deal. Back to work. Hopefully hanging out with Filip and Adam tonight. Drank a lot of coffee. Feelin’ good. WOO!
6:01 PM – Morgan’s home! Break time! Made a pot of delicious Gorilla coffee, which is both organic and fair trade. That’s something to feel good about. Second wind, coming soon, most likely after a darts win.
5:35 PM – This is hilarious.
5:29 PM - A little frustrated. Eating cookies.
5:09 PM - Throwin’ on the Wall•E soundtrack.
Also, wondering if anyone made the connection…
4:43 PM - Pounded about half a water bottle.
4:41 PM – Just filled up my water bottle. That’s 24 oz. down baby! I’m probably nowhere near the amount of water as I should be drinking. Still working. This shot’s gettin’ done!
3:49 PM - Back from solo darts break. I’m throwing well today. Strongly considering dropping everything and going pro.
Invaluable Information
I love reading Juice and finding out something that I never new anything about. While there’s a lot of information floating around here, there have been two tidbits that I’ve discovered through Juice which have had very influential effects on the way I live my life. Many Juicers, perceptive as they are, are probably taking full advantage of these lifestyle enhancers. However, I’d like to take a brief opportunity to discuss them with you, in case anybody missed out.
Life Update
I’ve been meaning to make a life update post for awhile now, ever since Nikki and I broke up. If you didn’t know that, I apologize; it’s been a pretty good while…but perhaps that speaks to the necessity of this post (my idea for the title for the original post was ” Operation: E-Rothman Freedom”)
Anyways, that happened. I really liked Nikki, but we had really different lifestyles and it started to wear on things. At any rate, I’m the happiest I’ve been since I can remember. Fil graciously invited me to move in with him, which I, of course, accepted. I was (and still am) elated to be out of shitty shitty bay ridge (chitty chitty bang bang?) and rocking out in one of the coolest neighborhoods I have yet to live in.
Living with Fil is a treat, as one might expect. We also secured two new roommates via craigslist, Morgan and Caroline, who are as cool as one could hope for. Morgan is from New Jersey, born and raised (no haters, please) and works for a non-profit on the Upper West Side snagging internships for foreigners at companies like Google and some others that I can’t remember. Caroline is from Australia and is a web designer. She calls cotton candy “fairy floss”. Some Juicers have had the pleasure of meeting these fine girls and can vouch for their legitimacy.
Work has been pretty damn swell. I have successfully managed, so far at least, to conjure up the meager beginnings of a successful freelancing career. After interning and landing some freelance at Curious, I worked on Falling Up at Charged, a cozy stop-motion studio in Gowanus. I am not sure that I will ever again have a job quite as sweet. The crew was small (4-5 people) and the ping pong was fierce. Hours: 10 or 11 to 7 or 8. Can’t beat that shit.
I worked on some little jobs in the interim and am now back on Falling Up for a short while working out of the ol’ bedroom. Working at home is a little weird, but it has its perks. For example, I can’t forget to bring my lunch. It’s hard to get in the swing of things sometimes. You have to remind yourself that you are “at work” even though you are completely naked. Anyways, that about brings us up to speed.
Oh, I got a tattoo. Here it is:
It’s a little reminder to not get too stuck in my own head when I’m rockin’ out in the day to day grind. Pay attention, get the most out of every task, look around, life is happening all around you, all that nonsense. I hope you all enjoy it. I know I do.
Anyways, that about sums it up. I love all of you. Don’t be strangers.
Falling Up
Hey gang.
So, a colleague turned good friend of mine, Djuna Wahlrab, is making a movie. It’s called Falling Up and it’s a short stop-motion film about kids and grownups and flying kites and things like that. She’s been working on the film for 3 years or something crazy like that now and is pretty close to being done.

This is a picture of a cool-looking set from the movie.
Anyways, legit, right? I got the chance to jump on this film and do some 2D animation and compositing/effects/cleanup type stuff for a few months full-time awhile back, and on and off again whenever I’m required. Anyways, it’s going to be pretty damn sweet when it’s finally finished. Djuna just finished a new website for the film: http://www.fallingupmovie.com. You can see some of the shots I worked on in the post gallery or head on over to my very own bio page complete with baby photo. NBD.
Also, if you guys know any rich people looking for a tax write-off, Djuna would probably wouldn’t mind them giving her money for the last leg of the race. My having met her is a pretty big reason I’m not wandering the streets of New York homeless right now, so I figure I owe her this plug.
Keep your eyes peeled for Falling Up in festivals this Spring. Also, keep your eyes peeled for me, completely naked, on my new website, www.xxxcompletelynakedericrothmanpics.com.
