Logorama
This is an animated short up for an Oscar this year that’s done almost entirely with Corporate logos, with a bit of a weird Pulp Fiction-type flair.
Check it out.

I saw this a few weeks ago, soooo badass. WATCH IT!

I saw a screening of the Oscar-nominated animated shorts lineup yesterday and this was actually my least favorite. Totally dig the concept–there was clearly a ton of work put into making a world completely out of logos and much of it is very clever–but I’m not sure it’s cool for the whole 16 minutes, and the story wasn’t really picking up the slack for me. Also, I got the vibe that I was really just watching a bunch of French dudes rag on American consumerism.

I agree with Eric. It just doesn’t seem like adds up to anything I really think works. By the end, it felt like they were trying to force any logo they could get in. Not bad, but not great.

I think it’s a neat concept, but I’ll agree that there’s not that much meat to the actual story of the film. I also agree with Eric vis-à-vis the French animators making fun of American consumerism.

Yeah, it’s a cool concept but I agree, it’s a little hollow. I just watched them all… I like the Granny O’Grimm one the best, although I didn’t think any of them were amazing.
