States by Percentage of Population Claiming No Religion Map
I saw a reference on Reddit today linking to a wikipedia page on List of U.S. States By Percentage of Population Claiming No Religion and decided to make a map out of it using the Google Charts API.
Lighter states represent a higher population of people that identify with no religion. There was no data for Alaska or Hawaii
Raw Data Map.
Black = 0% Population No Religion | White = 100% Population No Religion
Normalized Data Map.
Black = 5% Population No Religion | White = 34% Population No Religion

I think this highlights the fragility of the GOP coalition and why Dems have made big inroads in te Mountain West. By looking at this map, you can tell that Wyoming red is very different than Mississippi red.
