Augmented Reality + Jay May = Ay Bay Bay
Jay May is the first musician to do a music video using this technology. His new album comes out November 17th, by the way. A few devoted fans that have been active members of his old fan club get the chance to go to his record release party in NYC on the 17th. I’m one of them. It’s Joe and guest. What’s that you say? You want to be said “guest”? *EDIT* BIG KYLE IT IS!

Very cool. Perhaps slightly “gimmicky”, but still cool.
I wonder exactly how the viewer is going to be viewing the music video / interacting with it / taking advantage of the “augmented reality” … will it be like pointing your phone at something and having John Mayer pop out and being able to move around him? It seems like that would be difficult to capture / film enough angles.
Most augmented reality places VIRTUAL 3D objects into the camera space … since, of course, we can render virtual 3D objects from any angle on the fly. But video?
Very interesting.

Consider it done my man. They’ll be live coverage on the Fuse Network, and I’m pretty sure I’ll be getting pretty good seats. I’ll be logged in with 5 computers running the “Refresh Every” app, so the second they go on sale, BLADOW!
We’re also meeting up with lots of Mayercrafters at some bar beforehand. Gunna be an epic night. Glad you’ll be around for it man.
