That's very similar. Actually, I didn't set out to make an RSS reader. But, while setting up the geolocation stuff I was looking for easy access to geo-tagged data. News was the first thing I thought of and it was easy to integrate. The ultimate idea we had was the twittr geolocator. The RSS reading will probably be just one type of data we'll have available.
