Teamasparag.us
Hey everybody! Eric has a new(ish) website!
It’s called Teamasparag.us. I decided I wanted to have a more designy site than yourfoxygrandma.com, so I threw this guy together with some help from my bro. It’s not perfect–I’d like to make it cooler at some point–but I like parts of it. Check it out and let me know what you think! I’m especially interested in criticism. There a little bit of new work on there too.

I like your website.
I also like salad.
A++++++++ Would view again.
(Serious criticism time)
I liked it alot, but something just doesn’t sit well with me with having an embedded QT video on the main page of your site. I’m on a pretty beefy machine here @ work (WinXP using Chrome) and it did take a bit to get everything loaded. I do like the design a good bit though.
Excellent choice of domain name, were you brainstorming for a while to get a good .us name?

Haha, thanks Rob. Yeah, I came up with the name about a year ago. I was pretty set on coming up with something clever ending in .us, so I’m pretty happy with it. I have some more elaborate ideas as to what team asparagus actually means. I hope to implement them sometime soon.
The page does load pretty slowly; I hear you on that. I think all think the images are probably larger than they need to be. That’s something I need to fix. You may be right about the QT though. My justification for having it on the front page was to have work to look at with as little navigation as possible. One click never hurt anyone though…

Any chance in the future we can get something in reference to asparagus making your pee smell terrible?
(More serious business)
Yeah, I mean the way I see it, I don’t know what your hosting plan is like, but having it so that a relatively large (for web standards) QT movie loads on default for everyone may balloon your bandwidth usage. Maybe you can talk to one of the JavaScript wizards here about getting some kind of script to asynchronously load the movie after a user clicks on the title of a piece. That’d be pretty cool.
But seriously, I really like it dude.
Great Job!

I like the mayonnaise and syrup commercials. Also, your resume is hilarious (Skills – None). I’d hire you fo’ rizzle.
The Prev/Next images at the upper right of the page are a little cut off on the left edge, if that makes any sense. I’m forced to use IE 7 at work (unfortunately), don’t know if that has anything to do with it.
Also, I’m torn on the embedded QT thing. It seems really useful to have something to play immediately, but the page was also kind of slow loading.
Nice work dude!

Thanks for the feedback Brad. I’m still on the fence about the QT as well. I’m gonna shrink down some of the images and see if that helps. I’d like to get away with it if I can. Yoi yoi!

QT? Is it not 2009? Lets get some flash players up in the hizzous and provide a link to download the QT on the side.
From a design standpoint- you take an interesting approach by having the header title right smack in teh middle of the page. At first I was a little confused about the layout but quickly caught on.
Overall, nice work.
My 2 cents have been tossed in the ring.
