The Better and Bestest Show
Hey guys, I edited this show entirely in 3 days. It’s like Talk Soup for web video.
Let me know what you think, good or bad.

Good work dude! It reminds me of Talk Soup. Overall it looks nice and polished. That is, the editing makes it look nice and polished… which is much more than I can say for the acting. I didn’t really notice the editing for the most part, which is good, right?
I watched again and paid closer attention, and came up with some laymen thoughts.
I think the “set up the clip for us” cut/cutback (~0:45) was a little disorienting… but after watching it again it doesn’t look like there’s much else you could do there.
I really like the transition from the “over the shoulder” clip footage to the center-screen playbacks, and how it kind of ‘knocks’ the actors off screen (1:45). 3:20 confused me, looks like a blooper? Also, I wasn’t able to make out the dumpster in the background of that last scene the first time around…
I also like the moving square background… its smoooooth.
At some points, they are almost painfully embarrassing to listen to.

Cool Chad, did you pull the keys for all those green/blue screen shots as well?
Oh and that dude was annoying as f-ck. Please get him fired if you can :p

Thanks for the comments, guys.
@kyle: yes I did pull the green screen simply using a chroma key in Final Cut. Nothing fancy cause it didn’t really have to be. Also, I think the background color helped hide some of the imperfections.
I’m numb to his annoyance factor since I had to listen to his voice over and over, but I agree. No good.
@brad: I can’t take credit for the moving background but I’m glad you think it works. Nonetheless, I appreciate the comments specifically catered to editing.
Overall, I think the show can be good but the writing needs to improve. It’s been getting a decent response so far but it needs to be improved as a whole for it to be accessible for a larger audience.

Wow Chad that is some clean ass green screen, very well done man! I am impressed. What resolution was the captured footage you edited? And did you have any problems with green screen spill?
