Ya know, I love Ratatouille…and I mean LOVE IT. Prior to this interview, I used to think that the end all be all best director at Pixar was Brad Bird, with John Lasseter close behind (loved Toy Story 1+2, and I liked A Bugs Life… but versus his former schoolmates resumé of The Iron Giant, The Simpsons (good seasons), The Incredibles and Ratatouille…).
Not anymore though. I watched Finding Nemo again, and god DAMN, I think i just didn’t give it the necessary attention the first time around. Between that and Wall-E, I just cannot see Mr. Stanton doing any wrong.
I’m very curious to see how Pete Docter does in directing Up, his sophomore Pixar full-length feature outing (after Monsters Inc). The trailers/previews for it so far look absolutely incredible (my god those balloons coming out of the roof of the house) and hilarious (just look at the old dude).
