Worthless Website

Seems unnecessary.

Republicans for wasteful government spending

Yglesias tackles student lonas and Medicare Advantage:

The interesting thing here is not just the particulars of the policy, but the bizarre view of the role of government that Howard is espousing. Rather than a debate between progressives who want the government to provide a public service and conservatives who want the service to exist just insofar as it can be supported by the private market, we have a debate where both sides agree that the service ought to exist but the right thinks it’s important that it be done in a less efficient more costly manner because doing it that way generates profits for people who in turn give them money in some kind of nutty sense is supposed to preserve the integrity of the private sector. And it’s not just on student loans. You have essentially the same debate over Medicare Advantage between Democrats who want the government to provide seniors with costly medical services and Republicans who want Democrats to provide seniors with an even more costly version of those services by bringing private insurance companies in as middlemen. It’s ludicrous. Now elected officials are going to get mixed up in these kind of scams now and again, much as you see some Democrats siding with campaign contributors in the hedge fund industry over the basics of progressive politics. But when Chuck Schumer pulls that kind of stunt he takes crap about it from liberals while conservatives seem too busy whipping themselves into frenzies over fake pork-barrel schemes to send mice on maglevs to Disneyland to notice what’s happening.

Stuck in My Head, Thursday, 7:38 PM EST, 2/26/09 – Battlefield 1942

Battlefield 1942 rocks my world. Kyle and I used to play this game back in high school. There was no good VOIP at the time, so we used to hold the non-portable land line phones to our heads while we played. I remember how my neck used to feel after.

Nice use of lit bulbs to the beat, even better use of video game reference :)

ITIF uses 16 indicators to assess the global innovation-based competitiveness of 36 countries and 4 regions. Moreover, the U.S. ranks last in progress toward the new knowledge-based innovation economy over the last decade.

NOODLE ON NOODLE

I don’t know if ya’ll have heard of this site, but its pretty damn sweet. What’s the point ? Stack Cup’O'Ramen’s from the earth to the Moon. It’s that simple, and its actually quite entertaining. Mindless, Pointless, Internet based, community driven, stupid little actions. This site is an embodiment of how I feel about the internet at the moment. Is this site amazing ? Yes. Is it pointless ? Yes. Is it a waste of time? Yes. Does it serve any real purpose? No.  BUT….

Should you go there anyways ? Yes.

Grifball Spring League Team

Any Halo 3 players out there? I am asking anyone who is interested to join me in representing Juice, The Blog with a team in the upcoming 2009 Grifball.com spring league. Grifball is the Halo version of rugby. If you’re unfamiliar with the rules of the game, I suggest you take a look at their official rules.

Lemme know what’s up I want to smash some face, juice style!

Update: I just read that the seasons are 5 weeks of regular play (2 games per week), followed by 1 week of playoffs.
