Radiolab : Visual Experiment 01, actually “catenaries”
For all the Radiolab fans out there, it appears they are trying their hand at visuals as well as their beautifully mixed audio experience.
Not bad at all.

Fantastic!
However, i think its worth it to note that quite a few of those supposed “parabolas” are actually “catenaries”
A catenary is the curve formed by a rope or wire under the influence of gravity. The natural “drape” of a cable if you will. Its very similar to a parabola, but is in fact a hyperbolic cosine. “Catenary arches” are exceptionally strong and often used in structures and bridges as shown in the video.

so, as i found this video on Motionographer, I found quite a few people who were like “UHHH THATS NOT REALLY A PARABOLA”
I had already posted this, and said fuck it. you are correct though. And I am not wrong, I so much as I am lazy.
